Educated at Jamestown College, Lois began her business career in the banking industry.  She founded a tax preparation and accounting firm in 1970, preparing 1,000+ tax returns annually, employing numerous CPAs and Enrolled Agents.  She sold her 100% ownership of the firm after 15 years in practice.

Anthonisen expanded into comprehensive financial and estate planning in 1982.  She is a Registered  Principal with New York based broker/dealer, Royal Alliance Associates, Inc., member FINRA/SIPC.  Presently licensed to practice in 31states where current clients reside, Anthonisen is President of AFC Financial Advisory Group and AFC Advisory Corporation, a Registered Investment Advisor.

Listed in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICAN WOMEN, Anthonisen is a frequent speaker on asset allocation and disciplined financial planning and co-author of “Ways and Means”, a book providing practical answers to maximize the value of retirement savings.

Anthonisen’s charity work has included board positions with Prairie State College Foundation, Governors State University Foundation, and Altrusa Intl.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Abby Foundation and The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra.    Anthonisen is a Rotary Intl Paul Harris Fellow.  Her international service includes distributing eyeglasses to the poor in Poland with VOSH and serving with a team of financial professionals aiding the Chinese Securities Industry in establishing their financial markets in Shanghai and Beijing.  She and her husband, Martin, founded Jazz In The Park For Charity, an annual event offering an afternoon of jazz to over a thousand people each year, honoring local charities in the south suburbs of Chicago.  She was a finalist for Enterprising Women of the Year and was named the Abby Foundation 2010 Woman of The Year. 

As a member of Financial Planning Associates, Anthonisen has served as Vice President of Ethics. She was a founding member of the International Foundation for Financial Planning.  She currently works with a team of Certified Financial Planners offering a quality approach to Wealth Management, serving clients in Chicago and nationwide.
